london live

November 2, 2008

when you come to london you better be ready for some gigs or even better some guerilla gigs which are mostly in east London, far east london or camden.

every night is more or less 100+ good and 100+ middle good live music nights all around in london. each sentence that starts with GBE (god bless east) is about a gig in east london.

this happened in notting hill arts club. it’s quite tricky to find but perhaps worth it if you are still into beer-music-sex-student life. this band was moving whatever it is called.

GBE. alina came to london. hoxton square bar and kitchen.

GBE. most photographed by us – the coolness. you can join the coolness club on facebook. and maybe invite them to lithuania.

adam ficek (of babyshambles) solo – inga met him in 12 bar, the legendary place where everyone from the clash to the libertines played their very first gigs. this time this evening adam was losing his virginty as solo artist here. btw, he is coming next week to riga.

GBE. noah and the whale at rough trade (the music shop to visit, next to brick lane). you can subscribe to their mailing list and get all news about free live every week at rough trade east.

GBE. not quite vip view this time, we are sorry for ourselves. btw, this is bonde de role from brazil (signed by.. suprisingly… domino records) at hoxton square bar and kitchen.

igne leaving her marks on fan’s hands outside after DJ krush live in camden town, at our beloved koko live venue. metro stop – mornington crescent.

GBE. old blue last – vice magazine running venue where all fresh new bands play every day. EVERY day you can hear and see some disasters and some future celebrities there. this band was something like black indie, should say.

leon somov with jazzu playing in hyde park.

GBE. cargo – live gigs pub-club-bar. for the first time inga and igne heard there ebony bones playing.

again adam ficek. this time busking behind some church in soho.

GBE. peter solo show in rhythm factory. you can read more about in november pravda issue.

jazz after dark. a tiny bar for everyone who loves jazz after dark. the place itself is very cosy, dark, small and being there is something to compare with lynch movies. weird in a good way.

overall, you can’t sum up live music events which we attended in london. just to end up with that – london is music and live.

p.s. see proud galleries for some live music pleasure
